Happy Friday! It’s almost the Fourth of July. The weather will be quiet for some and active for others. Here’s a look at the holiday forecast for several regions across the country.
Northeast
High temperatures will be in the 70s and low 80s across the Northeast on Saturday. Scattered showers and storms are likely for much of the region. Things will begin to dry out for the evening hours. Rain chances will still linger in NYC during the Macy’s Fireworks Display.
Southeast
The weather will stay fairly unsettled across the Southeast this weekend as a front slowly meanders southward. There will be scattered storms throughout the region. Temperatures will be in the 80s and 90s as dew points remain muggy.
South Central
There is a slight change for some isolated storms across the south central region on Saturday. A few cells could be strong with hail and damaging winds, especially for parts of Louisiana.
Southwest
Things will stay hot and dry for most of the Southwest for the Fourth. The Front Range and parts of northern New Mexico have a chance of an isolated storm. There is a marginal risk for some strong cells to develop from northeastern California through northern Nevada and into western Utah on Saturday afternoon. Las Vegas looks sunny and hot with temps warming near 105F.
Northwest
The heat is continuing for the inland Northwest! Records are in jeopardy across areas of Washington, Oregon, and Montana once again this weekend. Seattle looks beautiful on Saturday with temps in the mid 80s and lots of sunshine. Boise will be hot with afternoon highs nearing 100F. Missoula has a slight storm chance in the afternoon. Northern California could see some isolated strong cells developing later in the day.
North Central
Much of the Upper Midwest will have a great stretch of weather for the holiday weekend. The sunshine will be out in full force as temps warm to near average highs on the Fourth. Things start becoming more unsettled on Sunday as a disturbance pushes in from the west. Severe storms are possible from Nebraska into Minnesota for the second half of the weekend.
