Happy First Day of March!
Snow and ice will continue to push through the Northeast and the Mid-Atlantic this afternoon. Generally, 1-4″ of snow is expected with the main concern being a light coating of ice. The greatest potential of picking up accumulating ice or sleet is from extreme northeastern Virginia to southern New Jersey.

A few rumbles of thunder are possible across the Southern Plains both tomorrow and Tuesday as warmer air surges northward. Overall, the South and Southeastern areas of the country will continue to stay unsettled through the beginning of the week.

Persistent rain is likely throughout the Southwest on Monday and Tuesday. A couple inches of rain could fall in the central and northern parts of Arizona over the next three days.
Today’s NASCAR race at Atlanta Motor Speedway could be interrupted by light rain showers early this afternoon, but the better chance of rain looks to be overnight tonight. Temperatures will be chilly in the upper 40s.
