Happy Sunday!
I hope the time change didn’t make it too tough to wake up this morning!
A persistent upper level ridge of high pressure parked over the Western U.S. will allow temperatures across the country to surge well above average this week.
Warmer temperatures and plenty of sunshine will combine to quickly diminish the snow pack across the eastern half of the country.
A very rainy pattern is shaping up over the Southern Plains today. A strengthening area of low pressure over the Texas/Mexico border is creating strong southwesterly flow that is drawing abundant moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. The rain will eventually spread into the Southeast by tomorrow and the Ohio/Tennessee Valleys by Tuesday. Significant accumulations are possible across the Deep South.
Today’s NASCAR race takes place in Las Vegas! The Kobalt 400 begins this afternoon at 3:30 ET. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s with clear skies and plenty of sun.
