After LSU lost to Alabama last week, a new team popped into the top four teams according to the College Football Playoff committee – welcome #4 Notre Dame to the party! Three of the four games featuring those teams will be dry and mainly sunny on Saturday, with only one seeing the chance of some rain (and even snow) Saturday afternoon. In today’s blog we take a look at the forecast for the games featuring these top four college football teams in the nation. Of course, we can’t cover all the games in a post. #3 Ohio State at Illinois – Noon ET Saturday

Sunny skies will dominate for this game between #3 Ohio State and Illinois late Saturday morning with game time temperatures in the upper 40s after starting off near freezing. Temps will continue to climb during the early afternoon hours, topping off in the low to mid 50s by the end of the game. Winds will be a concern through, sustained out of the southwest at 10-15 mph but gusting up to 20 mph.

Wake Forest at #4 Notre Dame – 3:30 PM ET Saturday

After morning temperatures starting off in the low 30s, we’ll see temps rebound to near 50 by the time we see kickoff around 3:30 PM ET between Wake Forecast and #4 Notre Dame. Clouds will be on the decrease throughout the day, and by the time the game starts we should see mainly sunny skies. Temps will only drop off into the mid 40s by the end of the game.

#2 Alabama at #17 Mississippi State – 3:30 PM ET Saturday

For those waking up early to go tailgating, it might be a bit chilly out with lows dropping into the mid 30s and frost possible. However, it’ll be a nice day with temperatures quickly warming and topping out in the low 60s in time for the kickoff between #2 Alabama and #17 Mississippi State. Skies should be mainly sunny, with a northeast wind 5-10 mph. Temperatures will drop throughout the game, nearing the mid 40s by the end of the game.

#1 Clemson at Syracuse – 3:30 PM ET Saturday

Looks like a rainy day in Syracuse for #1 Clemson to take on the Orange of Syracuse. Kickoff temperatures will be in the low 40s with a chance of some rain that will continue throughout the game. By the end of the game we could see some snowflakes mixing in with the rain as temperatures drop into the mid 30s.
