Week Three of the College Football season is upon us, and there are a number of good matchups coming this Saturday. We have selected a few of those games to take a look at the weather for – all of them featuring a ranked football team in the AP Top 25 poll going against another Top 25 team. Of course, we can’t cover all the games in a post. So, we remind you that you can always check out the forecast for your area over at http://wx.aerisweather.com.

#14 Georgia Tech at #8 Notre Dame – 3:30 PM ET Saturday

Football Forecast For Georgia Tech at Notre Dame
#14 Georgia Tech comes into Notre Dame Stadium to take on the #8 Fighting Irish Saturday afternoon as Notre Dame looks to go 3-0 for the third time in the past four years. This is the 35th time these two teams face off against each other with Notre Dame leading the series 27-6-1, even though the last time they met (2007) Georgia Tech won 33-3 in South Bend. Of course, Notre Dame has their backup that will be playing QB on Saturday in DeShone Kizer, and there’s the chance he might have to deal with the elements in his first start at the position. We’re watching showers for Friday night into Saturday morning across the South Bend area, and a few of those could linger into the afternoon. However, no matter what players will likely have to contend with strong northwest winds at 10-20 mph, gusting at times to 30 mph.

#18 Auburn at #13 LSU – 3:30 PM ET Saturday

Football Forecast For Auburn at LSU

#18 Auburn, after barely beating Jacksonville State last week, is heading into Death Valley to face off against #13 LSU in a rare afternoon home game for the LSU Tigers. The only reason the game is being played at this time is by request of CBS, according to LSU’s Athletic Direction Joe Alleva. Of course, this is a matchup between Tigers and Tigers… so I’m betting the Tigers are going to win. I also know that this game is likely going to be quite warm in Baton Rouge, LA with temperatures around 90 at kickoff and mainly sunny skies.

#15 Ole Miss at #2 Alabama – 9:15 PM ET Saturday

Football Forecast For Ole Miss at Alabama

Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, AL is where ESPN’s College Gameday is heading this week as #15 Ole Miss comes into town to face off again #2 Alabama. The Crimson Tide hope to get revenge on the Rebels that beat them early last October in Oxford 23-17. Before last years loss, Alabama had beaten Ole Miss the previous ten times. Right now we are expecting mainly clear skies for this game, with a kickoff temperature right around 80. Those temps will fall back into the mid 70s by the end of the game.

#19 BYU at #10 UCLA – 10:30 PM ET Saturday

Football Forecast For BYU at UCLA
We’ll head out west for our last game to Pasadena, CA and the Rose Bowl where the #19 BYU Cougars will meet up against the #10 UCLA Bruins. The last time the two teams met was back in 2008, when the Cougars blew out the Bruins 59-0 in Provo, UT. The two teams have only met ten other times in history, with UCLA holding a 7-3 series lead. For any day tailgaiting, it’s going to be a hot afternoon with highs in the upper 90s with sunny skies. Clear skies will continue into the evening hours, with a kickoff temperature in the mid 70s, dropping into the upper 60s by the end of the game.
